Headworks International is pleased to announce the appointment of Vice President Afnan Din to the advisory board for Power & Water Middle East. Power & Water Middle East magazine (www.powerandwater-me.com) was launched in 2007 as a platform to bring together key stakeholders in all divisions of the water industry from utilities, developers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers. The mission of the publication is to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the region’s power and water sectors. The advisory board plays a key leadership role in setting this monthly publication’s editorial agenda, outlining important industry developments, addressing problems, trends, as well as providing general guidance in developing technologies.

Michele LaNoue, President and CEO of Headworks International, stated that “having Afnan’s expertise recognized as a major player in the water sector is a big indicator of what we foster at Headworks. We wholeheartedly believe that increasing knowledge throughout the industry will only make our company stronger.”

Afnan joined Headworks BIO Inc. in 2010 as Vice President and Process Manager for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) division with over 10 years of experience in the water industry in both Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining Headworks BIO, Afnan worked for two of the largest and most well respected engineering consultants in the industry, MWH in the United Kingdom where he joined as a process engineer and then subsequently at Halcrow in Dubai where he was primarily responsible for developing Halcrow’s process capability and process team in the region. During this time, he gained significant experience in several advanced water and wastewater technologies, including working on the design and commissioning of MBR, MBBR, and ozone treatment plants.

Afnan graduated from University College London in 2001 with a BEng in Chemical Engineering, is a member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), and a Charted Engineer with Institute of Water and Environmental Management.
